Tooling around in Sea-Tac

August 1, 2019

Over the next couple of days we drove around to some different places, including Public Market, and JBLM We have been up in the Space Needle and gone through the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit before, so we did not do that this trip. Maybe we could do that another time with family when we come visit them in the area. I do however highly recommend visiting Chihuly if you are in Seattle. Did I mention the traffic? There was plenty of it, and we come from the Houston area which we thought was the worst. Anyway strolling through he market was fun and interesting. We saw some guys in the corner fish market throwing a Halibut around. Tried some fresh peaches and cherries from local farmers that were the sweetest we’ve ever had. Experienced tons of flower bouquets; with very good prices btw, artists and craftsmen with all types of wares for sale. Also we were told not to miss the gum wall !?? Well, it is just that… thousands of chewed gum, stuck to the walls on either side of this covered alleyway. Then we made our way back inside to waited in the line for lunch at Lowell’s, and I would say it was worth it. My lunch was very good and my wife enjoyed her plate as well.

Walking back to the car, we were surprised with the sounds of a flyover by the Blue Angels. I believe they were doing an airshow over the bay coinciding with Seafair. If we knew they were going to be doing a show, we would have walked to the piers to catch a better view. Now it was time to head back to camp, then tomorrow, we visit the base our son-in-law is transferring to.
