Week of August 5th
I became really far behind on posting here on the blog. We were either busy doing activities or more often than not, it was poor WiFi or cell reception therefore no blogging. I guess I should suggest for my wife to drive more so I can be on the computer updating the blog. 🙂 Anyhow, I will try posting weekly, and have longer paragraphs and more photos. I am also going to make a better effort to include photos from our camera, not just our phones.
After we left the Sea-Tac area, we drove about halfway across Washington to stay a couple of days at MarDon RV Resort near Othello. We did a day trip to the little town, passing several apple orchards along the way, then we ventured off to Ginko Petrified Forest State Park. This was a very interesting place, kind of desolate, but historical at the same time. There are 22 visible stumps of petrified trees in their original location of discovery. Between 1935 and 1938 the CCC (civilian conservation corps) worked to unearth and protect the logs for the future enjoyment of the public. More info can be found at: parks.state.wa.us
